The XJ6 engine, mounted on a separate chassis which is attached to the main body through vibration absorbing rubber insulators provides for tone of the quietest cars built.  4-wheel independent suspension, lower center of gravity and wider track, provide for tremendous handling , stability, and ride comfort.  "Anti-dive" suspension maintains level stability even under hard braking with now front-end dive.  The Series 3 offered fuel injection, with a 5-speed manual gearbox, and revised styling by Pininfarina.
