Triumph TR7

Restoration underway by Miami Valley Triumphs
The 1978 Triumph TR7 remains one of the most polarizing figures in British motoring history, famously defined by its radical "wedge" profile designed by Harris Mann. Advertised at the time as "The Shape of Things to Come," the TR7 was a sharp departure from the curvaceous, traditional roadsters like the TR6 that preceded it. By 1978, the model had transitioned production from Speke to Canley, attempting to move past the early reliability issues and industrial strikes that had marred its 1975 debut. Under the hood, it featured a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing roughly 105 hp (in UK spec), which provided respectable, if not breathtaking, performance for the era. While purists initially balked at its fixed hardtop and unconventional styling, the 1978 iteration benefited from interior refinements and the distinct, retro-futuristic charm that has since earned it a dedicated cult following among classic car enthusiasts.
